The Great Lakes District of the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA) is one of approximately 22 districts. Our district spans Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, the Western half of Ohio, and the Ohio-Kentucky border. In order for the district to remain relevant to the churches and faithful to its mission, it has further divided into regions. Each region represents about 50 churches, and each region has one Regional Superintendent, who serves as the Pastor to the Pastors.
Region A (Northern Illinois)
The Northern Illinois region of the GLD spans from Lake Michigan on the east and the Missippi river on the west, and from the Illinois-Wisconsin border in the north down to nearly I-80. Region A's Superintendent is Dr. Ivan York; he has served in this position for 3 years.
Region B (Michigan)
The Michigan region of the GLD, as the names suggests, spans the state of Michigan, including the Upper Peninsula. Region B's Superintendent is Dr. Robert Zimmer; he has served in this position for 3 years.
Region C (Heartland Region)
The Heartland Region is geographically the largest region in the district, span thoughout most of Illinois, all of Indiana, western Ohio, and the Ohio-Kentucky boarder. Rev. Charles Warren has served in this position for 3 years.
Region D (Win-D-City)
The Win-D-city region consists of those churches in Chicago and some of the neighboring communities. Region A's Superintendent is William Reed, Jr.; he has served in this position for 2 years. |
