Rick and Jan Thompson met at Wheaton Graduate School and their first year of marriage was on campus at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Today, their oldest son, David, is a graduate of TEDS and is serving with Samaritan's Purse as the Director of Operation Christmas Child for Central Europe, Central Asia and Eurasia. Derick is in full time Christian Service with www.rockgospelministries.org and Tiffany attends Wheaton College. Rick and Jan have a passion to multiplying healthy churches globally with the Evangelical Free Church and now the Great Lakes District.
After thirteen years serving the Hope Evangelical Free Church of Dubuque, Iowa, God called them to Moscow, Russia from 1992-1997 as the EFCM Eurasia Director and a senior pastor of Moscow Bible Church. Rick served as the district superintendent in Texas from 1997-2004 and Jan served on the staff of the First Evangelical Free Church of Austin overseeing new connections and church membership for a church that grew from 1,800 to over 2,700 people in two years after moving into a new building. Jan also leads women's retreats and seminars. Rick enjoys preaching, leading strategic planning for local churches and serving the staff of the GLD. He is prepared to work with your regional superintendent in equipping your church's leadership in some of these areas (materials available):
